Manutea, Te Tāpui Atawhai- Auckland City Mission
Joanne Ramakiria Reidy
Of Ngāti Tamaterā, Ngāti Hako, and Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga whakapapa, Joanne Ramakiria Reidy holds the Manutea role at Te Tāpui Atawhai, guiding the organisation’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and strengthening its Te Ao Māori approach. Manutea can symbolise a guiding presence, leadership, or a messenger of important kaupapa. In some contexts, it can also represent spiritual leadership or a role that carries wisdom and foresight—reflecting the kaupapa-driven mahi that Joanne leads.
With a career spanning over 30 years across hauora Māori, suicide prevention, addictions, the justice system, and now the homelessness sector, Joanne brings a wealth of experience in kaupapa Māori approaches to wellbeing and social change. She is deeply committed to whakawhanaungatanga and manaakitanga, ensuring that cultural safety, wairua-driven services, and meaningful partnerships remain central to Te Tāpui Atawhai’s mahi.
Dedicated to transformational change, Joanne recognises that the actions of today shape the future for our mokopuna.
